FLY'N THINGS(tm) PCX-To-DXF Conversion Version 1.0 4/2/95 README.TXT - The file you are reading INSTALLATION: Operating features of the PCX-To-DXF Conversion program REQUIRE that it be run under Windows 3.1 or later in the enhanced mode. The PCX-To-DXF program works best with Super VGA running at 800 x 600 resolution. However, it HAS been tested with Windows running standard VGA at 640 x 480 resolution. This is a Visual Basic program and requires VBRUN200.DLL to be installed in the WINDOWS or WINDOWS/SYSTEM directory. 1. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COPY OF VBRUN200.DLL ON YOUR SYTEM: a. If you have a disk copy, copy VBRUN200.DLL from the disk to your WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. b. If you have downloaded the PCXTODXF.ZIP file from an on-line service, download a copy of VBRUN200.DLL, too. Usually it's stored as VBRUN200.ZIP. 2. From Disk: PCX-To-DXF conversion uses a standard Windows installation program. The program comes on a single high-density (1.44Mbyte) 3-1/2 inch disk. Place the disk in your 3-/12-in. drive. From the Windows Program Manager File Menu, select RUN... Type A:\SETUP and press the Enter key. The automatic install program prompts you for any changes, like hard drive or directory. When complete, the install program creates a new File-Manager Group containing the PCX-To-DXF Icons. A special PCX-format file: RYANTEST.PCX is included so you can test the output with a large-size file -- the non-registered version, while full featured, is limited to PCX images no larger than 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. If you are new to Windows, select the program's Help menu and then select How To Use Help for basic operation of Windows programs. For information on the PCX-To-DXF conversion, select Contents from the Help pull-down menu. Or, simply press function-key F1. 3. From A ZIPped Download: Copy PCXTODXF.ZIP into a temporary directory on your hard drive. UNZIP the file with an UNZIPping program. Copy the UNZIPped programs to a 1.44 Mbyte floppy disk. Then, follow the above "From Disk" installation instructions. OR: To install directly from your hard drive, UNZIP the program to a temporary directory. Follow the "From Disk" installation procedure above, but run SETUP from that directory on your hard drive. In the WINDOWS and/or WINDOWS/SYSTEM directories, delete the following files ONLY if they are not needed by other Visual Basic Programs: PCXTODXF.INI VBCTL3D.VBX (Used by all FLY'N THINGS(tm) Programs) From the File Manager, delete the PCX-To-DXF program & Help Icons and then delete the PCX-To-DXF Group.
